The students of B.Sc. II Med. of Deptt. of Zoology of Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya went for an Educational Trip to Ropar. They visited Fish Seed Farm, Near Behram,
Nawanshahar. The students studied the
detailed hatcheries and the breeding tanks in which the major Indian carps of 7
varieties are kept and reared. The area
of Fish Seed Farm is 28 acres. The
second place they visited is Semen Bank Ropar.
It is an Biosecurity area in which bulls of certain indigenous variety
are kept in sheds. The process of
artificial insemination and the technique of semen dilution and storage at 196oC
in liquid nitrogen was given. All the
above process which the students learned were in the syllabus of the students
and is helpful in writing the project report.
