The three day Model
United Nations 2016 was inaugurated at HMV aiming to encourage the youngsters
to debate on key national and global issues and hence honing their public
speaking skills as well as boosting up their confidence. On the second day around 600 delegates
participated in different sessions under 15 committees organized for the
purpose. The conference is based on the
theme “2030 Agenda for sustainable development in least developed
countries”. The delegates put forth
extensive discussions on matters like Indo-Pakistan relations, United Nations
Economic and social conditions, social, cultural and humanitarian issues,
atomic energy issues, status of women, condition of children, international
security issues. The delegates also
enjoyed to their full in the social night.
ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਦੇ ਮੁਕੱਦਸ ਵਿਹੜੇ 'ਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਡਾ. ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਮਾਡਲ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ 15 ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ ਅਧੀਨ ਲਗਭਗ 60 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਭਖਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਚ ਭਾਰਤ-ਪਾਕਿ ਸੰਬੰਧ, ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦਾ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੰਬੰਧ, ਸਮਾਜ-ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਉਰਜਾ, ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ, ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਚਰਚਾ ਹੋਈ। ਡੈਲੀਗੇਟਸ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਾਹਿਬਾ ਨੇ ਡੀ.ਜੇ. ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
