A
week-long Faculty Development Programme on ‘Recent Trends & Advancements in
Research in the Field of Languages and Social Sciences’ was organized jointly
by Depts of English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Sanskrit at Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. In the morning session of the concluding day, Mr. Satnam
Manik (Shiromani Awardee), Sr. Sub Editor Ajit, was the resource person. The
conveners Mrs. Kawaljit Kaur (HOD, Punjabi) and Mrs. Mamta (HOD, English) gave
him floral welcome. Dr. Simran Sidhu, the chairperson of the session, informed
about the professional profile of Mr. Manik. He started his career from the
newspaper Lok Lehar. He expressed his views on ‘Ajoke Punjabi Samaj Di Arthik
Ate Samajik Dasha’. He showed his concern over suicides committed by farmers,
youth’s interest in going abroad at any cost, unemployment, lowering of the
level of ground water, the problem of law and order, terrorism, etc. According
to him, no country can get development with a foreign language. He advocated
localization over globalization. The chairperson invited questions from the
audience. During his reply, Mr. Manik advocated the diversity of crops. He also
said that media has turned from missionary to commercial due to various social,
economic and political pressures. He again stressed the need of taking measures
to ensure ground water recharging. The speaker of the next session was Dr.
Sanjeev Sharma from DAV University, Jalandhar. Mrs Lavleen gave a brief
information of Dr Sharma. Mrs Mamta and Mrs Kranti Wadhawa welcomed him with a
bouquet. Mrs. Pooja chaired the session. Dr. Sharma spoke on Natural Language
Processing and what computer can do with languages. NLP, he said, is the use of
computer to process written and spoken human language. The application of NLP
can do wonders since it helps in easy communication among speakers of different
languages. He also warned that NLP is hard because of ambiguity at all levels –
morphological, phonological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic, and connected
speech.
In
the valedictory session, Dr. Narendra Mohan from Delhi congratulated the
participants for completing the FDP successfully. In his interactive session,
he compared poetry with history. He reminisced about the tragedy of partition
and stressed up on the importance of imagination in literary creation. He also
explained the distinction between modernism and postmodernism. Ms. Priya Chopra
studied the report of Day-6 of FDP. The chairperson of the session was Mrs.
Davinder Braich.

Mamta (HOD, English), the co-convener, encapsulated the complete report of FDP.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen thanked the resource persons,
participants, teaching and non-teaching staff for the successful completion of
seven day long Faculty Development Programme. She extolled the simplicity with
which the FDP started with Padamshri Surjit Patar, the keynote speaker, and
ended with the address of Dr. Narendra Mohan. At the end, the participants
shared their experiences of seven day FDP and praised the efforts the college
administration put in. On this occasion, Conveners Mrs. Kawaljit Kaur (HOD,
Punjabi) and Mrs. Mamta (HOD, English), Mrs Sunita Dhawan (HOD, Sanskrit), Mrs.
Kranti Wadhawa, Mrs. Archana Kapoor, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Mrs. Kuljit
Kaur, Mrs. Veena Arora, and Dr. Jyoti Gogia (HOD, Hindi) were also present.
ਹੰਸਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪੋ੍ਰ. ਡਾ. (ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ) ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਅਧੀਨ (ਹਿੰਦੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ) ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ਼ ਦੇ ਨਵੀਨ ਢੰਗ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਸੱਭ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਸਤਨਾਮ ਮਾਨਿਕ (ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਜੇਤੂ) (ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਉਪ-ਸੰਪਾਦਕ, ਅਜੀਤ) ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਮੁਖ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਕਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਕਵਲਜੀਤ (ਮੁਖੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਸੰਚਾਲਿਕਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਮਮਤਾ (ਮੁਖੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਨੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਸਿਮਰਨ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸਤਨਾਮ ਮਾਨਿਕ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਮਾਨਿਕ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿੱਤਾਮੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ‘ਲੋਕ ਲਹਿਰ’ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਦਸ਼ਾ’ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀਆ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀਆ, ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਘੱਟ ਰਿਹਾ ਪੱਧਰ, ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮਸਿਆਵਾਂ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਰੁਝਾਨ ਤੇ ਅੱਤਵਾਦ ਜਿਹੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਉਠਾਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੇਸ਼ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਪੁੱਛੇ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਮਾਨਿਕ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿਦਿਆ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੀ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਵਪਾਰਿਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਗਲੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਡੀਏਵੀ ਯੂਨੀ., ਜਲੰਧਰ) ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ ਵਦਵਾ ਨੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਨੇ ‘ਨੈਚੂਰਲ ਲੈਂਗੂਏਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਸੈਸਿੰਗ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਰੋਤਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲਿਖਤੀ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਲਈ ਕਪਿਊਟਰ ਐਨ.ਐਲ.ਪੀ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਫ਼ਟਵੇਅਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਧੁਨੀਗ੍ਰਾਮ, ਸ਼ਬਦਾਵਲੀ, ਵਾਕ-ਬਣਤਰ, ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਪਸ਼ੱਟਤਾ ਇਸਦੀ ਸਭਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਖਾਮੀ ਹੈ।
ਵਿਦਾਈ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਡਾ. ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਹਨ (ਦਿੱਲੀ) ਨੇ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾਪੂਰਵ ਐਫ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਕਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਿ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਕਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਰਤਾਲਾਪ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਖੋਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਨਤਾ ਲਿਆਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ। ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਦਰਪਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਤੇ ਯਾਦ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਸਹਿ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਕਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹੀ।
ਮੈਡਮ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਖ ਜਾਂ ਅਪ੍ਰੱਤਖ ਰੂਪ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭੱਵਿਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਰੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਲਾਭਕਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਸਰਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਡਾ. ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਹਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨਵੀਂ ਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਪੀੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀਆ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁੱਲ, ਸੰਸਕਾਰ, ਨੈਤਿਕ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੰਦੀਆ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਦੇਣੀਆ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ‘ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ’ ਬਣ ਸਕਣ। ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਿਸ ਸਾਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਦਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਪਾਤਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਐਫ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸੀ ਸਾਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਡਾ. ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਪਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਭ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਿਆ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸੁਨੀਤਾ ਧਵਨ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਕੁਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਨੀਤਾ ਸੈਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਵੀਨਾ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਤੇ ਹੌਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ। ਮੰਚ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਜੋਤੀ ਗੋਗੀਆ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ-ਪੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
