7-days Summer School in Biological Sciences concluded at HMV

7-days long DBT sponsored Summer School in Biological Sciences concluded at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.  Dr. Umesh Kumar Sharma, Scientist E, DST, New Delhi chaired the concluding session.  He talked about research career opportunities in science and technology.  He encouraged students to identify their inherited strength and fix their aim.  He also gave information about various schemes available with government for career development of students with special reference to various Inspire scholarship schemes.  Poster Making Competition and Quiz Competition were also organized for participating students.  Kanika from HMV stood First, Harsimran from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and Manjinder Singh from Govt. College Hoshiarpur stood Second and Third respectively.  In Valedictory Session Dr. Meena Sharma, Convener presented glimpses of summer school.  To inculcate scientific temper and research aptitude amongst students, renowned scientists from various prestigious institutions like Dr. Upma Bagai, Dr. N.K. Srivastava, Dr. Prasanth, Dr. Rajesh Tandon interacted with students.  Trophies were distributed to winners of Quiz and Poster Making Competitions by Dr. Umesh Kumar and Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. 

            Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the faculty of life sciences for organizing summer school which has enlightened students about latest research development and career options in the field of Biological Sciences.

            Mr. Harpreet Singh, Organizing Secretary gave vote of thanks.  Dr. Seema Marwaha, Coordinator and Dr. Ekta Khosla, Adviser also encouraged the students to work hard and achieve their goals.  Dr. Anjana Bhatia conducted the stage.  Dr. Shaveta Chauhan, Dr. Nitika, Mrs. Ramandeep, Ms. Harpreet, Ms. Avantika, Dr. Kanika, Ms. Jaswinder were also present on this occasion.

ਹੰਸਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਡੀ.ਬੀ.ਟੀ. ਦੇ ਸਇਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਸਮਰ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਨ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਉਮੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਖੇ਼ਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਯੋਗਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਵਿਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਵੱਲ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਉਮੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਭੱਵਿਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੀਚੇ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪੇ੍ਰਰਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਵਜੀਫਿ਼ਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਚ.ਐਮ.ਵੀ ਦੀ ਕਨਿਕਾ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ, ਏ.ਪੀ.ਜੇ ਦੀ ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਨਵੀਨਰ ਡਾ. ਮੀਨਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਗਤਿਵਿਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਸੰਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਵਿਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ: ਡਾ. ਉਪਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਸ਼੍ਰੀਵਾਸਤਵ, ਡਾ. ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਟੰਡਨ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਨਾਤਮਕ ਰਹੀ। ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਜ਼ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਾ. ਉਮੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪੋ੍ਰ. ਡਾ. ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਨਾਮ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ।

ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਵਧਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ਼ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਸਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਏਕਤਾ ਖੋਸਲਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਮਰਵਾਹਾ, ਡਾ. ਮੀਨਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਅੰਜਨਾ ਭਾਟਿਆ, ਡਾ. ਸ਼ਵੇਤਾ ਚੌਹਾਨ, ਡਾ. ਨਿਤਿਕਾ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਨਦੀਪ, ਸੁਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ, ਕਨਿਕਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਤਿਕਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
