The 4th Inspiring Day of INSPIRE Internship Science Camp at HMV

The penultimate day of 4^th INSPIRE Internship Science Camp at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya remained eventful with two informative technical sessions complemented with practicals and interactive sessions.  The resource person for the morning session was Dr. Rohit Mehra, Registrar, B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar who elaborated on the topic ‘Uranium and Heavy Metal Pollution in ground water’.  Dr. Rohit was welcomed and honoured by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Co-ordinator of the event and members of the core committee.  He focussed on the use of science and technology in daily life.  He also informed about different sources of radioactive materials which threaten the life on earth.  He also explored the topic of research methodology.  He further told about the health hazards caused by waste water from R.O. which is used for purification of water.  The stage was conducted by Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, HOD Chemistry. 

In the second session an innovative idea writing competition was organized by Dr. Neelam Sharma and Mrs. Deepshikha from the department of Chemistry. 

The resource person for the post lunch session was Dr. Madhu Raka from Panjab University, Chandigarh.  She spoke on the role of Prime Numbers in Data Transmission.  She explained the use of prime numbers in data transmission and how data transmission is used in electronics and communication media.  She also told about number theory and its links with data transmission.  She discussed about cryptography and secret message coding. 

In the evening session student performed the practical work in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. 

In the pre dinner session Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Physics Department, DAV College, Jalandhar was the resource person.  He gave a wonderful lecture on ‘Mental Ability’.  He unfolded various tips to enhance the memory and efficiency of work.  Mrs. Rakesh Uppal, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. Meena Sharma, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Mr. Sumit Sharma also graced the occasion with their presence.

ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਂਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ 'ਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਇੰਸਪਾਇਰ ਇੰਟਰਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ. ਬੀ.ਆਰ. ਅੰਬੇਡਕਰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਟਿਊਟ ਆੱਫ ਟੈਕਨਾਲਾੱਜੀ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਾਰ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਮੇਹਰਾ ਬਤੌਰ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।  ਪਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪੋ. ਡਾ. (ਸੀਮਤੀ) ਅਜੈ ਸਰੀਨ ਤੇ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਹਰਪੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ।  ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਮੇਹਰਾ ਦੇ ਟੈਕਨੀਕਲ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ‘ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪਾਣੀ 'ਚ ਯੂਰੇਨਿਯਮ ਤੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਧਾਤੁਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਦੁਸ਼ਣ' ਸੀ।  ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ 'ਚ ਯੂਰੇਨਿਯਮ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਧਾਤੁ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਮਾਤਰਾ 'ਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਟੈਕਨਾਲਾੱਜੀ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਤ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ 'ਚ ਪਯੋਗ ਤੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।  ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰੇਡਿਏਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰਪਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।  ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਰੇਡਿਓਏਕਟਿਵਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਪਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਭਾਵ ਸਾਡੀ ਕਿਡਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।  ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਕੈਮਿਸਟੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਜੋਤੀ ਕੌਲ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਡਾ. ਨੀਲਮ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੀਪਸ਼ਿਖਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨੋਵੇਟਿਵ ਆਇਡਿਆ ਰਾਇਟਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।

¦ਚ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 'ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ• ਤੋਂ ਡਾ. ਮਧੁ ਰਾਕਾ ਬਤੌਰ ਰਿਸੋਰਸ ਪਰਸਨ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।  ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਡਾਟਾ ਟਾਸਮੀਸ਼ਨ 'ਚ ਪਾਇਮ ਨੰਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ•ਾਂ ਡਾਟਾ ਟਾਂਸਮੀਸ਼ਨ 'ਚ ਪਾਇਮ ਨੰਬਰ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੇਕਟਾਨਿਕਸ ਤੇ ਸੰਚਾਰ 'ਚ ਡਾਟਾ ਟਾਂਸਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।  ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਨੰਬਰ ਥਿਊਰੀ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਵਿਧਿਆਂ ਦੱਸੀ।

ਸ਼ਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮਾਨਾਂਤਰ ਪੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਇਓਲਾੱਜੀ, ਕੈਮਿਸਟੀ, ਫਿਜਿਕਸ, ਬਾਇਓਲਾੱਜੀ, ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕ ਤੇ ਬਾਇਓ ਇਨਫਰਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਦੇ ਪਯੋਗ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸੀਮਤੀ ਰਾਕੇਸ਼ ਉਪੱਲ, ਡਾ. ਨੀਲਮ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਮਰਵਾਹਾ, ਡਾ. ਮੀਨਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਸੀਮਤੀ ਸਲੋਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਅੰਜਨਾ ਭਾਟਿਆ, ਡਾ. ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੀ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
