The 6th
INSPIRE Internship camp
organized at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the assiduous guidance of
Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen
came to a spectacular close on the fifth day. The valedictory began with the
pious lighting of the lamp and DAV Anthem.The session was chaired by Mr. Arvind
Ghai, Secretary DAVCMC. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen extended green welcome to Mr.
Arvind Ghai. In the welcome address Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the
inquisitive spirit of the interns and their conduct and discipline during the
five days. She gave two key ideas to the participants to take along with them.
The first is not to hesitate to ask questions as no question is a stupid
question. The second advise is to always give time & respect to elders. It
helps them to grow as individuals and make them different from others. On
similar notes Mr. Arvind Ghai motivated the students to inculcate moral values
and be humble in their lives. He said that their faces radiate their energy and
intelligence and they should use it in the right direction.
The
participants put up an enthusiastic participation in the Quiz competition. The
Meritorious School stood first in the quiz followed by MGN Public School at
second position and Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kalyan Patiala at third position.
Astha, Srishti, Harshveer & Sukhveer were adjudged as Best Campus. The
participants were awarded with prizes and certificates. The inspired and confident
students hailed the camp as a great success and thanked the Principal and
Organizing Team.
The
students enjoyed the practical and interactive sessions facilitated by the
resource persons. Dr. Atul Khanna (GNDU, Amritsar) discussed about space
sciences and told that there is great scope and opportunity of research in
space sciences. Dr. Arunpal in his presentation on “Courage to do mathematics”
emphasized that it is a very simple subject and can be studied easily. The
students excitedly attended the practical sessions by Mr. Jaswinder Singh who
is recipient of Shiksha Ratna Award. He has converted his van into mobile lab
demonstrating more than 82 experiments. Proceeding further Mr. Abhishek Kumar
(Institute of Research for Bio Informatics, Bangalore) elaborated on the topic
“Stem Biology for Cancer” and discussed about history of genomes. Similarly Dr.
Yashveer Singh (IIT Roorkee) detailed about various drugs, their development,
testing and effects on the body.
The
interns enjoyed a cultural programme followed by bonfire. The camp co-ordinator
Dr. Harpreet Singh, members of Core Committee, Dr. neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema
Marwaha, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Mr. Jitender
Kumar and School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal were also present on the
occasion. The stage was conducted by Dr. Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
