Two-Day International Conference INSYB 2019 organised at HMV



A two-day International Conference INSYB 2019 International Symposium on Bioinformatics organised under the vibrant leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen was inaugurated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya by Sh. Arun Saini PPS, DCPHQ Jalandhar. Beginning with the pious lighting of lamp and the recital of DAV Anthem. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed and honoured Sh. Arun Saini, the keynote speaker Dr. Shobha Ranganathan, Chair of Bioinformatics. Deptt. of molecular Sciences, Macquarie University Australia, Dr. Sonika Tyagi, Mohnash University Australia, the distinguished resource persons Dr.Devander Biswal, NEHU Shillong and Dr. Abhishek Kumar, IOB, Bengalore.
In the Welcome Address, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen expressed her delight to host such reputed personalities in the field of Bioinformatics. Emphasizing on the ideology of Arya Samaj she said that being social and maintaining relations is the essence of Arya Samaj, which motivate us to work for the welfare of the society. She congratulated Dr. Harpreet Singh, Convener of this conference and his whole team for the venture. She wished her best to the faculty and staff members and hoped for such events in the future as well. Dr. Harpreet Singh outlined the objectives of the conference and expressed his thanks to Dr. Punam Suri, President DAVCMC, Padamshree Awardee, Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President, DAVCMC and Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen. He said that the motive of this conference is to take research to higher levels. In the inaugural address Sh. Arun Saini PPS DCP HQ Jalandhar congratulated the institution for organizing this intellectual summit to promote research. He also told about the pick and drop initiative of the government to ensure the safety of women.
An epitome of politeness and modesty, the keynote speaker Dr. Shobha Ranganathan, Macquarie University, Australia spoke at length about Bioinformatics and machine learning. Talking about her personal experiences she brought forth the stem issues faced by women scientists. She advised to explore the world and never give up in life. Calling life a game of snakes and ladders she said that winninig is not the end but playing the game is the fun. The major take away to her speech is to think equal build smart and innovate for change.
Dr. Sonika Tyagi, Mohnash University Australia in her address on the topic, “An integrative approach to computational Epigenomics gave practical insights into the subject. The plenary sessions were facilitated by Dr. Abhishek Kumar and Dr. Devendra Biswal and Chaired by Dr. Shobha  and Dr. Sonika. The conference was organised in association with Bioclues, International society for computational Biology, AP Bio Net, Asia pacific Bioinformatics Interaction and Galaxy Australia. The stage was masterly conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. The members of organizing committee Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Mrs. Purnima and faculty members and attended the sessions.
