2019: An Year of achievements for HMV






Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is working in the field of women education and women empowerment from the last 93 years. HMV is catering to the educational needs of more than 5000 girls and providing them skills and education according to the needs of the industry. The institute is providing education in the fields of Humanities, Science, Computer and IT and Commerce. The college has got highest grade in NAAC accreditation twice. Each day of 2019 had been a day of innovation and creativity for HMV. The college received ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Award for the excellent contribution of the institution in fostering affordable quality education and taking initiatives for social responsibility and nurture an atmosphere of excellence in February 2019. In June 2019, HMV was declared as an excellent college by OUTLOOK magazine in their edition on India’s Best Professional Colleges. The college was awarded ‘Excellence in Creative and Performing Arts’ in 6th FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards during 15th FICCI Global Higher Education Summit 2019 organized by FICCI, INDIA on 27th November 2019 in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The event was inaugurated by Hounourable President of India His Excellency Sh. Ram Nath Kovind and the Chief Guest of the Award Night was Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways Sh. Nitin Gadkari. The college has received the unique distinction of being the only college of India to receive this coveted award.
College Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen, a dynamic personality, was awarded with Nadia Murad Excellency Award for the highest standards of excellence in Science and Technology during World Women Congress 2019 by Bio Genesis Health Cluster. She was awarded with Mahatma Gandhi Award for Global Peace for promoting the Gandhian ideals of truth, non-violence and humanitarian services by Founder, Ashram Gandhi Puri, Indonesia. On 31st October, 2019, Dr. Sareen was honoured with “IRON Lady” award by Indo-Nepal Samrasta organization for her contribution in Education, Swachta, Innovative work in society and for taking initiatives for Women Empowerment.
The college has many innovations to its name. In the year 2019, the foundation stone of diesel pump was laid. The college got the approval to start new courses like B.Com. Financial Services, M.Sc. Physics, M.A. Economics, PGD in Financial Services. Under Kaushal Kendra Scheme, the college started new courses like M.Voc. in Cosmetology and Wellness, B.Voc. in Yoga and Fitness, B.Voc. E-Commerce and Digital Marketing, Diploma in Nanny and elderly healthcare. The college organized a three day unique Indonesia-India Sanggam 2019 in association with Ashmram Gandhi Puri Bali to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 70 years of India-Indonesia ties. The college also co-hosted an International Conference on Innovations Research in Science & Humanities – 2019 (ICIRISH -2019) on 10th November, 2019 at Sharjah, UAE. The college signed an MOU with MESC, Govt. of India in December, 2019. Many personalities of different fields visited college campus on various occasions like Arundhati Roy, Binoo Dhillon, Jassi Gill, Tarsem Jassar, Mandy Takhar. The students of the college won name and fame in various national, international, sports and cultural platforms.  Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen gave New Year wishes to all and said that HMV wishes to promote national unity and provide holistic growth to the young girls of the country, keeping in view the traditional values of our nation. HMV strives to bring a positive change in the world with education.
