HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar organised “Induction Programme”
for students under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
on the occasion of Mahatma Hansraj Diwas. The objective of this programme was
to tell the students about various opportunities of Arts, Science, Commerce
streams. The students of +1 and +2
participated in it on virtual platform.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave best wishes to the students
for starting of new session. She said that every year, the institute starts new
traditions & courses. The institute has touched newer heights & got
many glorious positions. She said that this year, we have started “Scout and
Guiding” as new course. The students can have Govt. jobs in NDA, Railway etc.
School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal gave detailed information about rules
of the institute and various courses offered. She told that coaching for
Science Congress competition and JEE is also provided by the Science
Department. Commerce Department also offers coaching for competition exams like
C.A. English department also offers courses on Communication Skills and
Coaching for IELTS. Short term courses like Cooking, Arts, and Music are also
offered for the holistic growth of the students.
Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head Psychology department said that the college has
established Counselling Cell to counsel the students. The students can discuss
their problems with the counselors. She also suggested that all the students
should participate in online events to avoid stress. In this virtual session,
the parents of last year’s students also shared their experiences. The virtual
session was moderated by Mrs. Meenu Kohli Commerce Department.
