HMV makes History by organizing second International Conference abroad


 

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has once again made history by organizing an International conference abroad. The International Conference on Research and Innovation in Social Sciences and Humanities (ICRISH) 2024, a multidisciplinary conference, was held from August 21-25 at the Bangkok campus of Assumption University, Thailand. The event was jointly organized by HRMMV, Nehru Arts and Science College Coimbatore, and Assumption University, drawing participation from over 100 delegates representing various educational institutions worldwide. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen, who served as the Organizing Chair welcomed the keynote speaker, Dr. Tewin Tencomnao, Chair of the B.Sc. Program in Medical Technology at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. A delegation of sixteen members from Punjab, including prominent scholars and educators, attended the conference. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Associate Prof. Department of English acted as a member of the organizing team, she also chaired Track 04, where 15 papers were presented on diverse topics. Dr. Ramnita herself presented a paper titled “Holistic Education in the Global Scenario,” highlighting the importance of teaching English through literature to achieve the sustainable development goals of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Other notable contributions included Dr. Jyoti from the Hindi Department, who presented on the "Havan Yajna and its Scientific Utility," and Dr. Kajal, who won the Best Paper Award in Track 03, focused on business and management. Dr. Kajal's paper, "Conceptual Review of Exploring the Antecedents of Employee Empowerment Affecting Job Satisfaction," received significant acclaim. Mrs. Protima from the History Department presented on "E-Learning," and Dr. Rakhi from the Design Department explored "Traditional Indian Textile Designs in the Contemporary World." Additionally, two students from HRMM made their mark: Ms. Suchita, an MA English student, presented on "Cracking India: The Psychological Impact of Partition," while Ms. Meghna, an undergraduate, discussed "Political Representation of the Transgender Community in India: A Contemporary View." Contributions from other institutions included papers by Dr. Simran Sidhu from Doaba College and Dr. Priyanka Marwaha from CT College. Ms. Mehreen, a class 11 student, stood out as the youngest presenter at the conference. The successful organization of ICRISH 2024 by HRMM not only underscores its commitment to fostering international academic collaboration but also highlights its role in promoting multidisciplinary research and innovation on a global platform.
