Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell and Red
Ribbon Club of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized awareness
programme regarding HIV AIDS and maintaining female hygiene in Dhaliwal village
under the able guidance of Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. Ajay Sareen. Dr.
Deepali, incharge , Red Ribbon Club along with the volunteer, Jagjot Kaur of
B.Com Sem IV explained to the villagers that HIV is not a communicable disease
and made them aware about the causes and precautions to avoid this problem.
They also highlighted misconceptions about the spread of HIV AIDS. Dr. Minakshi
Duggal Mehta, incharge, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell highlighted the importance of
hygiene and stressed on the use of pads instead of old and used clothes to
avoid infection. The team members distributed pads to the females of the
village. The event ended with a vote of thanks to Mr. Mandeep Singh, Sarpanch
of the village and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Member Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell for
their cooperation and support. Principal , Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. Ajay Sareen
appreciated the efforts of team members and encouraged to organize more such
events in future also.
