The PG Hindi department
of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an Extension Lecture dedicated to
350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Teg Bahadur ji as per the directions of
Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The resource person was Dr. Tanuja Tanu,
Sr. Editor, Punjab Kesari. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla welcomed her with green
planter and a souvenir. She said that Sikh Culture includes social equality,
justice, bravery & sacrifice. This series initiated by Guru Nanak Dev
University is really important. This initiative will help students to get
information about Sikh History. Dr. Tanuja Tanu presented her views on the
martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur ji and said that “Hind Di Chadr” Guru Teg Bahadur
ji sacrificed his life for religious freedom & human values. His sacrifice
is important not only in Sikh history but in world
history. His sacrifice is an example of Dharma & justice. She also talked
about his Bani. Head of Hind department, Dr. Jyoti Gogia also appreciated the
initiative of Guru Nanak Dev University & said that Guru Ji was a great
poet & philosopher. His writings have special place in Hindi literature.
Km. Damini (MA Hindi Sem I) and Km. Muskan (BA Sem I) presented poems on Guru
Teg Bahadur ji. On this occasion, Hindi Department faculty Mrs. Pawan Kumari,
Dr. Deepti Dhir, Dr. Mandeep Kaur from Punjabi Department & Mrs. Protima
from History Department were also present.
