Annual Sports Meet ‘Champions 2018’ was organized by Sports
Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.
On this occasion, Chief Guest was Commissioner of Police Jalandhar IPS
Praveen Sinha. The Guest of Honour was
Sh. Arvind Ghai, Secretary, DAVCMC, Sh. Ramesh Sharma and Sh. Kundan Lal
Aggarwal.
Principal
Prof. Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the guests and congratulated Sports
Departments for organizing Annual Meet after such a long time. She said that college is not excelling in the
field of education but also performing in sports in an excellent way. She encouraged the students for marching
ahead in life and said that success comes to those who know how to win.
Dean
Sports Mrs. Sudarshan Kang read the report of Sports department. Chief Guest IPS Praveen Sinha hoisted the
flag and declared the meet open. The
students of Sports department did a march past.
Under the leadership of National Judo Player Divjot Sindhu, the players
took the pledge of playing the games in a fair way. Shivani, Shivangi and Manpreet ignited the
torch. The students also presented a
Yoga Show. IPS Praveen K. Sinha said
that sports are very important in life because they teach us to be
disciplined. Sports also encourage us to
be humble and focus on our goal.
Punjabi
Singers Lovely Noor, Nav Thakur and Karan Randhawa entertained the audience
with Punjabi Songs. Various Sports
competitions of students, teaching and non-teaching staff were held which
included Tug of War, 100 Mtrs Race, Lemon Race and Sack Race. The chief guest of Valedictory ceremony was
Commissioner Jalandhar Division IAS Raj Kamal Chaudhari, Secretary DAVCMC Sh.
Bal Kishan Mittal and Mrs. Asha Mittal.
Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed them.
Sh. Bal Kishan Mittal congratulated the sports department of the college
for this wonderful event. IAS Raj Kamal
Chaudhari highlighted the importance of sports in our life and said that we
should give some time to sports in our daily schedule.
The
students presented Bhangra, which was highly appreciated. Winner of National Rhythmic Gymnastics Ms.
Sadhna presented Ribbon Show and was honoured.
All the coaches of Sports department were also honoured during the
sports meet. On this occasion, all the
students of the college, DPE Ms. Harmeet Kaur, Ms. Sukhwinder, Ms. Baldeena,
Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop Kaur, Dean Innovation Mrs. Ramnita Saini
Sharda, Miss Shama Sharma, Superintendents Mr. Amarjit Khanna, Mr. Raman Behl,
Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh were also present. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia and
Dr. Nidhi Bal.
