Under
the able guidance of worthy Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Chandrayaan Vipnet
Club of Department of Physics celebrated the Birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul
Kalam. On this Occasion, online poster making and PPT competition were
organized. Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Jatinder and Dr. Harpreet
Singh acted as Judges of the event. Event
commenced with lamp lighting ceremony. For seeking blessings of Almighty,
Gaytri mantra was recited. The event Coordinator and Head Physics Department
Mrs. Saloni Sharma gave introduction of the event and motivated the students to
follow the principles of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dean Science Faculty
gave best wishes to the department for the smooth functioning of the event. Ms.
Garima and Ms. Parneet of B.Sc Sem V presented documentary on the life of Dr.
APJ Abdul Kalam. After this students of various colleges presented their PPT on
latest topics of Physics namely Physics in Space Exploration, Dark
matter-Friend or Foe, Contribution of Physics in Communication and Technology,
Unexplained case files, Latest materials and their applications and Advancement
in Artificial intelligence means extinction of Humans. More than 150 students
of various institutes participated in online Poster making competition. Principal
Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the physics department for successful
completion of the event and encouraged them to conduct more such activities for
promotion of science and scientific temper among students. Mr. Sushil Kumar, Assistant
Professor in Physics announced the results. Ms. Parneet of B.Sc Sem-V won first
prize in PPT competition. second prize was bagged jointly by Sahibpreet and
Garima. Ms. Tanuja of HMV and Ms. Prabhjot of DAVIET shared third position. Appreciation
prize was won by Surbhi Sharma and Harleen. In poster making competition, Ms.
Ritika won the first prize, Ms. Parminder of SN College, Banga got second
prize. Third position was shared by Ms. Pallavi Rana and Parneet of HMV. Ms.
Harshita, Protima Thakur and Smile Sharma were awarded appreciation prize. Mrs.
Simmi Garg, Assistant Professor in Physics, presented the vote of thanks.
