Youth Welfare Department of HMV College,
Jalandhar organized a musical entertainment event under the able guidance of
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop. Prominent
singers and actress, Nimrat Khaira, Sargun Mehta and Ammy Virk were invited to
enthrall the audience with their melodious singing as well as to promote their upcoming Punjabi Film Saunkan Saunkane. Sargun Mehta is an
Indian Actress, Model and Television Host. She has received three PTC Punjabi
Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards Punjabi for her work in Punjabi Cinema.
Nimrat Khaira is an Indian singer and actress known for her work in Punjabi
language music and films. She is also the winner of the Punjabi Music Reality
Television Show called Voice of Punjab. A very popular and extremely melodious
Punjabi singer Nimrat Khaira is also an Alumna of this college. She has
released as many as 30 songs overall. Ammy virk is an Indian singer, actor and
producer. He works in Punjabi and Hindi films and has started his own
production house. He is known for his versatility and acting acumen. The
programme started with the lighting of the lamp. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen
along with the members of organizing committee Mrs. Navroop, Dr. Ashmeen Kaur,
IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Rakhi Mehta and Mrs. Shefali Kashyap honoured the guests
with planters, phulkaris and portraits prepared by Fine Arts Department. All
the singers entertained the audience with their songs and dialogues from the
movie Saunkan Saunkane. Ammy Virk
sang a beautiful song of his one of the films. Nimrat and Sargun gave a
melodious performance of another song. The event was immensely appreciated by
the students as they felt enlivened and rejuvenated after a long spell of
regular studies. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. Principal Dr.
Ajay Sareen congratulated the Organizing team for their initiative and gave her
blessings and best wishes to the guest’s artists. On this occasion members of
faculty and non-faculty staff were also present.
