The
inaugural Havan for the new academic session 2022-23 was performed at Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya on the commencement of academic session 2022-23 of
Collegiate School. The new session as well as the day began on a
very enthusiastic note. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
welcomed the students of SSC 1 and SSC 2 and prayed for the blessings of the
Almighty. She hoped that with the blessings of Dr. Punam Suri,
Padmashri Awardee, President, DAV College Managing Committee, HMV Collegiate School shall reach heights of
glory and the faculty shall spare no pains in achieving these
heights. She also held firmly that everything has been achieved with
the combined efforts of the teaching, non-teaching and the supporting staff.
While sharing success mantra with the students, she said that it is achieved
through focused attitude combined with persistent hard work and the blessings of Almighty and
parents. The school coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal addressed the students by
saying that every obstacle in the path of success be treated as stepping stone
and be invincible in life. Supdt. Admin Sh. Ravi Maini encouraged the students
to adopt positive thoughts and leave negativity in life to achieve success. The
tree of knowledge nurtured with tenacity and resilience certainly bears fruit
and it has been shown with the release of Punjab School Education Board results
of SSC 2 in which Vanshita Mohindru
secured 9th position
in the overall merit list and stood 2nd in Jalandhar District.
Jasneet Dhanjhal secured 3rd
position in the district. They both shared their experience of HMV collegiate
with the new entrants and paid their immense gratitude to madam Principal,
Coordinator and all the faculty members. On this event, School Magazine Srijan
Volume 2 also got released in which the artistic flow of the students gets
proper framework. The magazine is a creative reflection of the students' self-
composed short stories. Covering the entire successful saga of Collegiate
School ranging from awarded with the Best School of the Year award to bidding
farewell party for outgoing classes, the Annual report 2021-22 of Collegiate School also got released. As per
the green tradition of HMV, the students and faculty members whose birthday
fall in this particular month were given planters. Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, ex
faculty of English Department got felicitated by Principal Madam and
Coordinator for her wonderful contribution in School prospectus . Dr. Prem Sagar from
the Music Department sang a Bhajan. The Havan was attended by Mr.
Lakhwinder Singh, Supdt. Gen., all the members of the faculty – teaching and
non-teaching, the supporting staff and the students. The stage was
conducted by Dr. Meenu Talwar. She thanked Principal Prof. Dr.
Sareen for her constant support and inspiration and assured her of the
relentless and whole hearted efforts of the faculty. The Havan was
followed by Orientation Program in which the students of SSC 1 were given
proper information about the academic and extra academic activities of the
school. They were acquainted with the different courses and programs running in
the school like French language learning, Scouts and Guides Program, CA
Foundation course, JEE/NEET Coaching etc .The students visited the campus and
filled with gusto and enthusiasm with its every nook and corner.
