A seven day NSS special Camp is being organized in Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar and sixth day of the camp began as usual with
DAV Gaan and NSS song. This day was entirely dedicated to environment and its’
protection. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen addressed the entire NSS
unit and made the NSS volunteers aware regarding the importance of NSS camp and
its’ role for over all development in one’s life. Programme Officer Dr. Veena
Arora, in her address, told the volunteers that we must think for the welfare
of others and always be one step ahead to serve our society. Further, she
informed the volunteers of NSS Camp pertaining to the activities to be
performed on the sixth day of the camp. This day was dedicated to village
Gakhal again where NSS volunteers made the people of the village aware through
Sawachhta Campaign and performed Nukkad Natak. Through this play, NSS
Volunteers beautifully presented their views about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and made the
residents of the village Gakhal realize about their responsibility toward the
cleanliness of their house and society. Moreover, volunteers planted trees
around the area of Gurudawara Hemkunt Sahib Gakhal and made the people of the
village aware about the environment protection. On this occasion, S. Jasbir Singh-Panch
of the village Gakhal thanked to the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen and the entire NSS unit for conducting awareness campaign in their
village. After returning, NSS
volunteers started to maintain eco-park of their college. Volunteers reused old
products in this park and showed their prowess that how we can make our house
and parks of our society majestic by using old things. At the end of the day,
volunteers and unit members of NSS camp thanked to God and shared their
experience of the day with each other. On this occasion, Ms. Harmanu Paul, Ms.
Bhawana, Dr. Meenu Talwar, and Mr. Parminder Singh were also made their
presence for assisting NSS volunteers in their social work.
