Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated at NCC Unit of Hans Raj Mahila
Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar, in collaboration with Ex-Serviceman Welfare
Association Bhogpur, celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas by honouring the Veer Naris
under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event
started with the lighting of the lamp followed by DAV Gaan. The chief guest of
the event was Commanding Officer Colonel M. S. Sachdev. Other guests of the
event were Commissioner Major Irwin (PCS), Captain Gurmail Singh from
ex-serviceman association, Smt. Satwant Bhullar Principal DAV Public School
Ludhiana and Sh. Surjit Lal. The media partner of the event was Dainik Sawera.
The event was sponsored by HDFC Bank and Sahara Sewa Samiti Jalandhar. On this
occasion, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen bowed down to the martyrs of Kargil War and
showed respect for the veer naris. She also inspired youngsters to take pledge
for complete devotion to the pride of India. She also appreciated the efforts
of Lieutenant Ms Sonia Mahendru and Mrs Purnima of NCC Unit of HMV. Commander
Sachdev felt honoured to be the part of the event. He said that every woman is
a brave woman and we all should perform our work with honesty and devotion. Commissioner
Major Irwin also addressed the audience and paid his tribute to the martyrs of
Kargil. On the occasion, the veer naris Smt. Dalvinder Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur,
Harpreet Kaur, Kulwant Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Hakko Kaur, Harjinder Kaur, Seetal
Kaur, Surinder Kaur, Mahinder Kaur and Mohinder Kaur were felicitated. On the
occasion, Retired officers Major Singara Singh, Sh. Surjit Lal, Kishan Singh,
Sh. Tej Rajinder Singh and Sh. Anil Kumar were also honoured. At the end of the
event Captain Gurmail Singh apprised the audience of facilities provided by
Ex-Serviceman Welfare Association. The event ended with the recitation of the
National Anthem.
