PG Departement of Physics and
Chemistry of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized an industrial visit to
Shiva Polymers, Jalandhar, under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen. Mrs Deepshikha Head of Chemistry Department, Mrs Saloni Sharma Head of
Physics Department and Dr. Simmi Garg accompanied students of M.Sc. Chemistry
and Physics to visit the Shiva Polymers which is a leading manufacturer of
Various Grades of Special PVC Films in India. Mr. Raghav Dhir, M.D. facilitated
the visit to the company. Students took tour of the Industry and learned the
complete process starting from raw material to the preparation and its
packaging. Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Production Manager explained every step and
process of the production of PVC Lamination Films along with the working of
machinery in detail to the students. He also explained about the maintenance of
equipement and ethics considered during preparation of Films. Students also
visited the quality control laboratories and learned about the various tests
done to check the quality of raw materials and the final products. Students
interacted with the experts during the visit who shared their knowledge
resulting in very informative discussion. Ms. Tanuja (Assistant Professor in
Physics) and Ms. Alka (Assistant Professor in Chemistry) also accompanied the
students. Madam Principal Congratulated the Physics and Chemistry department
for successful organization of the visit.
