One day educational trip to Nakodar was conducted by
Department of Design to visit handloom weaving units, Market Survey and Outdoor
study. Handloom unit Raj Durrie Factory was visited. Students and faculty interacted
with weavers, Yarn Dyers and unit owner. Local market of Nakodar for cotton
yarns, furnishing materials and handloom-powerloom fabric was surveyed.
Beautiful Architecture Building of great Sufi Saint Baba Murad Shah Ji was
visited by students for outdoor study. Watercolor demonstrations, pencil and
charcoal study, Architectural study and photography were done at Baba Muradh
Shah Ji building. Faculty members and students of Design, Music and Dance
enjoyed the trip. Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Mrs.
Ritika, Mrs. Amanpreet, Ms. Manika visited with students and explain various
aspects to the students. The Trip was very fruitful and students explore new
dimensions of world. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that giving
practical exposure to the students is very important so that they can work as
per the demand of the industry.
