The sixth day of NSS special camp
‘Seven-day NSS Camp: Service and Growth’ was organized under the able guidance
and surveillance of Principal Dr. Prof. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in Hans Raj Mahila
Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar. The theme of the day was Infrastructure and Social
Bonding. On this day, the NSS volunteers taught the students and the ladies of
the village handicraft and knitting skills. The volunteers also taught the
students how to create from papers objects of art like flowers, trees, balls
etc. Volunteers also learnt from the villagers how to make environmentally
friendly fertilizer. Mrs. Sangeeta Bhandari performed the duty of a judge in
the competition of making PPTs. by the volunteers. NSS adviser Dr. Anjana
Bhatia appreciated the efforts of the volunteers made on the day and motivated
them to keep the spirit high ahead. Under the guidance of Dr. Shailendra, the
volunteers painted a wall in the village Gillan spreading the message to quit drug
addiction. On the college campus in the evening, a cultural programme was
organized. Volunteers and students danced and sang around the camp fire in
front of the college hostel. Programme officer Dr. Veena Arora encouraged the volunteers to note down their experiences in a
diary for future reference. The stage was conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia. On this
occasion, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Ms Harmanu, Dr. Baljinder Singh and Mrs. Gurpeeet
Kaur were also present.
