A Valedictory Session of a Seven Day Special NSS camp was
conducted in Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya Jalandhar. In this concluding day, the certificate and prize distribution
function was organized under the leadership and able guidance of industrious
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The theme of
the closing ceremony was to express gratitude to the residents of village
Gillan and also celebrate Christmas. The closing ceremony was held at the
Government School of village Gillan. Diary making and Best out of Waste
competitions were organized. NSS volunteers also interacted with the villagers.
After this, Sarpanch of village Gillan, Mrs. Amandeep Kaur shared her
educational and professional experiences with everyone. She encouraged the
youth to participate enthusiastically in the process of national development
and she also emphasized on important issues like women empowerment. Program
Officer Dr. Veena Arora presented the report of the camp and said that during
this camp, NSS volunteers did various cleaning works under Swachh Bharat
Abhiyan. They wrote inspirational slogans, took out a drug de-addiction rally
and planted trees in village Gillan, making people aware of health issues. On
this concluding day, NSS volunteers participated in diary writing, Best Out of
the Waste competition and also presented their experiences of the camp through
power point presentation. On this day, NSS volunteers were awarded certificates
and prizes by the chief guest for their selfless services towards the society
during this camp. Principal Dr. Sareen motivated the NSS volunteers to make the
spirit of social service an important part of life. NSS Advisor Dr. Anjana
Bhatia motivated the students to join the NSS programs wholeheartedly. Program
Officer Ms. Harmanu expressed her gratitude and gave a message to all the NSS
volunteers to maintain this spirit in future as well. Street play on the topic
of cleanliness was presented by the volunteers and children of government
school presented Gidda, Bhangra, Geet, Vaar. Dr. Jyoti Gogia from Hindi
Department conducted the stage on this occasion. On this occasion from the
teaching staff, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Dr. Baljinder Singh and Ms. Jasbir Kaur
along with former Sarpanch Raghubar Singh Gill from village Gillan, Panch
Surjeet Singh, Panch Bahadur Singh, Panch Manpreet Singh, Panch Ruby were also
present.
