Readers Club organized a Discussion
Session on Books, Must Read for
Readers in collaboration with the eminent writer Mr. Rahul Saini. A floral welcome was extended to Mr. Rahul
Saini by Mrs. Renu Singla, Librarian, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda of English
Deptt., Vinita, Secretary, Pallavi, Joint Secretary and Navjot, Asstt.

The objective of this session was to
inculcate the habit of reading among the students and discussion upon the must
read pieces of literature. Around 25
students from various streams attended the session. Mr. Rahul Saini said that one must always be
careful while choosing books and what is inside them, for words have the power
to change. Students actively
participated and came up with their list of queries which were patiently
answered by Mr. Saini. He also gifted
them a dozen of must read books and thus the college library now has a Rahul
Saini recommended corner. Principal

ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਿਆ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਕ ਰੀਡਰਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਲੇਖਕ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੈਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਸਕਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ‘‘ਬੁੱਕਸ, ਮਸਟ ਰੀਡ ਫਾਰ ਰੀਡਰਸ” ਸੀ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨ ਰੇਨੂ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਮਨੀਤਾ ਸੈਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਨੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੀਡਰਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੀ ਸੈਕਟਰੀ ਵਨੀਤਾ, ਜੁਆਇੰਟ ਸੈਕਟਰੀ ਪਲਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਸੈਕਟਰੀ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਪੜਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਪੜੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਭਗ 25 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੈਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੌਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕੰਟੈਂਟ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਾਵ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਫੀ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੈਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿਗਿਆਸਾ ਵੀ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ। ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੈਨੀ ਨੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਜਨ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵੀ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਹੁਣ ਕਾਲਜ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ‘‘ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸੈਨੀ ਰੈਕਮੈਂਡੇਡ ਕਾਰਨਰ” ਵੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਿਤ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਰਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੇ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਰੀਡਰਸ ਕੱਲਬ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਹਰ 15 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਦ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਮਨੀਤਾ ਸੈਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ, ਦੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪੜਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹÄ ਹਨ ਬਲਕਿ ਸਹਜੀਵ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਪੜ•ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
