DBT sponsored Indo-American Programme on Educational Linkage organized at HMV

In an innovative venture to inculcate paramount international research experience into the scheme of education, Research Promotion Cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a DBT sponsored Indo-American programme on Educational Linkage.  World renowned scientist and cancer biologist, Prof. Rajendra G. Mehta, Asstt. Vice President, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA was the keynote speaker.  Prof. R.G. Mehta is an internationally known researcher in the area of cancer chemoprevention, drug discovery and molecular mechanism of drug action.  The National Cancer Institute (NCI, USA) is using his research method to develop cancer therapy.  The programme was initiated by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Prof. R.G. Mehta, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and science faculty.  Principal Prof. Dr. Sareen welcomed the guest and said that her vision and efforts are aimed at enhancing the existing academic resources and elevating the region’s scientific capacity to international competence and excellence.  Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mehta said that there is a direct correlation between diet, nutrition and cancer.  He deliberated on the issues of cancer and all biology.  Dr. Raksha Mehta from Chicago and Prof. Saroj Arora from GNDU were also present there.  Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Incharge Research Promotion Cell said that thorough care must be taken as far as diet is concerned.  

            An MOU was signed between the college and Prof. Dr. Rajendra Mehta, Professor (Emeritus) Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA for academic and research pursuits.  Dr. Ajay Sareen said that such an understanding between HMV and IIT Research Institute, Chicago will definitely go a long way in escalating the research and academic excellence of the students.  On this occasion, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Meena Sharma, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Mr. Sumit Sharma, Dr. Shaveta Chauhan, Mrs. Purnima, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda were also present.

ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਿਆ ਦੇ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਪੋਮੋਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡੀਬੀਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਏਜੁਕੇਸ਼ਨ ¦ਿਕੇਜ਼ ਤੇ ਇੰਡੋ-ਅਮਰੀਕਨ ਪੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਤੇ ਕੈਂਸਬ ਬਾਇਓਲਾਜਿਸਟ ਪੋ. ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰ ਜੀ. ਮੇਹਤਾ, ਅਸਿ. ਵਾਇਸ ਪੇਜ਼ੀਡੇਂਟ, ਏਲਿਨਾਯਸ ਇੰਸਟੀਟਯੂਟ ਆੱਫ ਟੈਕਨਾਲਾੱਜੀ, ਸ਼ਿਕਾਗੋ, ਯੂਐਸਏ, ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ।  ਪੋ. ਆਰ.ਜੀ. ਮੇਹਤਾ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਰਿਸਰਚਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਕੀਮੋਪੀਵੈਂਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਡਗ ਡਿਸਕਵਰੀ ਆੱਫ ਮਾੱਲੀਕਯੁਲ ਮਿਕੈਨਿਜ਼ਮ ਆੱਫ ਡਗ ਏਕਸ਼ਨ ਹੈ। ਯੂਐਸਏ ਦਾ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਇੰਸਟੀਟਿਯੂਟ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਥੇਰੇਪੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਰਿਸਚਰ ਵਿਧੀ ਦਾ ਪਯੋਗ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਸ਼ਮਾਂ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪੋ. ਮੇਹਤਾ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੈ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਤ ਨੂੰਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।  ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਡਾ. ਮੇਹਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ, ਨਿਊਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਹੈ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਤੇ ਸੈਲ ਬਾਇਓਲਾੱਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਗੋ ਨਾਲ ਡਾ. ਰਕਸ਼ਾ ਮੇਹਤਾ ਤੇ ਜੀਐਨਡੀਯੂ ਤੋਂ ਪੋ. ਸਰੋਜ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਰੀਸਰਚ ਪੋਮੋਸ਼ਨ ਸੈਲ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ਼ ਡਾ. ਅੰਜਨਾ ਭਾਟਿਆ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ 'ਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਤੇ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਨੂੰਪੋਤਸਾਹਨ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਐਚਐਮਵੀ ਤੇ ਪੋ. ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੇਂਦਰ ਮੇਹਤਾ, ਅਸਿ. ਵਾਇਸ ਪੇਜ਼ੀਡੇਂਟ, ਏਲਿਨਾਯਸ ਇੰਸਟੀਟਯੂਟ ਆੱਫ ਟੈਕਨਾਲਾੱਜੀ, ਸ਼ਿਕਾਗੋ, ਯੂਐਸਏ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਮ.ਓ.ਯੂੂ. ਸਾਇਨ ਹੋਇਆ। ਡਾ. ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਐਮਓਯੂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਚ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਨੂੰਬਿਹਤਰੀਨ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਮਰਵਾਹਾ, ਡਾ. ਮੀਨਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਜਤਿੰਦਰ, ਸੀ ਹਰਪੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸੀ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਸ਼ਵੇਤਾ, ਸੀਮਤੀ ਪੂਰਨਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਨੀਤਾ ਸੈਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਰਦਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
