Freudian Psychological Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, organised One week National Workshop cum Internship on Counseling Skills for the students of B.Voc Mental Health Counseling under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Head of the Department of Psychology Dr. Ashmeen Kaur.
The Resource Person for the workshop was Ms. Sonali
Aggarwal from Bangalore. She is a Counselling Psychologist and Certified
Practitioner in Behaviour, Learning disability, Play therapy and Child
psychology and a Member of National Association of Play therapy. The Workshop
cum Internship Program was divided into two parts Micro and Macro skills which
aimed at strengthening communication skills at personal as well as professional
level and enabling students to introspect their abilities and enhance them
through self-development activities. The programme also included Role-plays &
Mock activities for better understanding and building up confidence for
conducting counseling sessions. The internship was very useful for the
counseling students especially in the present times of pandemic where mental
health issues are on the rise.
