Environment Club and Zoology Department of Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under DBT Star Scheme and under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs) Ajay Sareen celebrated Organic

promote sustainable and safe festivities. The event aimed to encourage the use of natural colours while
spreading awareness about the harmful effects of synthetic colours on health
and the environment. All the
faculty members and students celebrated the Festival of Colours by using
natural, eco-friendly colours and flower petals focusing on the health of
individuals and the environment. On this occasion, Organic colour, Card and
Eco-friendly Rangoli making competitions were organized. Participants
showcased their creativity by preparing organic colours using natural
ingredients like turmeric, beetroot, spinach, and flowers. The competition
emphasized the benefits of using eco-friendly colours that are safe for the
skin and biodegradable. Students also designed Holi-themed homemade greeting
cards messages promoting sustainable celebrations. To further spread awareness
and extend warm Holi wishes, a Message Corner was set up for
teachers and students to share their thoughts and greetings. Student office bearers of ‘Environment
Club’ Kiran, Gurleen and Ridhima coordinated in organizing all the events.
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen commended the Zoology Department
and the Environment Club for their thoughtful initiative,
