Under the able
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Freudian Psychological
Society organised a one day workshop on Therapeutic Alliance: The Soul of
Successful Therapy. The resource person was Dr. Atul Madaan ,MAAP, MBA,
MPhil (Clin. Psy), PhD (Psy) ,UGC-NET Qualified ,Clinical Psychologist (RCI
Regd). He is an HOD (Clin Psy) - NHS Hospital, Jalandhar. Operational Head -
Care For Autism Foundation, Jalandhar. Director - Autism Alliance Pvt. Ltd
(Care For Autism), Ludhiana. Co-founder - ZenTree - A remedial intervention
centre for the children with Learning Disability. He was welcomed by, Dr.
Ashmeen Kaur, Head P.G. Department of Psychology with a planter. Dr. Atul Madan
initiated the workshop with an interactive session, engaging the students
in interactive discussions. He explained How we as a therapist can
establish a connection between us and the client for the effective
therapeutic process. He also discussed the qualities and skills of an
effective counselor. He also engaged the students in role play for better
understanding. Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated this initiative and
congratulated the faculty of PG Department of Psychology. She said there is
dearth of counselors and it is the need of the hour to organise such workshops.
Ms. Ramneek Kaur and Ms.Pahul Jabal ( B. Voc MHC sem 2) conducted
the stage. Ms. Priya Seth (Assistant Professor) gave the formal vote of thanks
.On this occasion around 100 students along with Ms. Parul Sharma, Ms.
Ishmanpreet Kaur and Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur from PG Department of Psychology
participated in the workshop.
